2017 Year End Address
As we wrap up 2017, PTWebucation.com would like to thank you all for your continued support and patronage throughout the year. We have a lot to look forward to in 2017, including new courses, new presenters, and multiple expansions. We have had a wonderful year and would love to share some highlights with you. This year we have expanded our course offerings exponentially and added many esteemed, diverse presenters to our roster.

New Presenters:
Comet Mekonen PT, DPT, OCS, ACSM CPT
He is the Presenter of PTWebucation.com’s two newest courses titled, “Physical Therapy of The Rotator Cuff Status Post Arthroscopic Surgery” and “Evidence Based Physical Therapy of the Lumbar Spine Assessment and Treatment.”
He is the Presenter of PTWebucation.com’s newest course titled, “Physical Therapy of The Rotator Cuff Status Post Arthroscopic Surgery.” He also has a few other courses in the works for PTWebucation.com that we are excited to bring you in the new year.
Dr. Mekonen graduated from the University of St. Augustine DPT program in 2014 with three years of clinical experience and garnered the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification in 2017. He has a great deal of passion for orthopedics, teaching, and evidenced based clinical practice. He currently works for Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital as a physical therapist performing rehabilitation on orthopedic, neuromuscular, and vestibular patients. His clinical focus is on orthopedics, extremities and spine, and post-operative patients. This presenter has been an instructor in human anatomy as lab teaching assistant at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and additionally as a clinical instructor having facilitated students at the University of Shenandoah. He has also been invited to present his theory report on lumbar spine pain at the Virginia Physical Therapy Association National Conference entitled, “Addressing chronic non-specific low back pain by addressing the nervous system primarily is key in regard to helping patients reduce their pain, and requires further specific research.”

Cynthia Watkins PT, DPT, CHT
Dr. Watkins is the Presenter in two of PTWebucation.com’s newest courses on the hand, titled “Common Hand Surgeries and Rehabilitation,” and “Hand Injuries in Sports.”
Cynthia is the Manager of Hand Therapy at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her Masters in Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University and received her DPT from Temple University. She has lectured at Temple University in the physical therapy and athletic training departments and also coordinates and lectures at the annual meeting of the Rothman Hand Conference. She has several peer reviewed journal and book publications. Cynthia has been working in hand therapy for over eighteen years.

Kailee Karst, PT, DPT, RYT-200
Dr. Karst is the Presenter in the new and very popular Yoga course, “Incorporating Yoga into your Physical Therapy Practice.” Kailee Karst is a physical therapist, practicing outpatient orthopedics in Charlottesville, Virginia. Kailee graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to graduate school, she completed her yoga teacher training, and continued teaching throughout graduate school. Dr. Karst completed a Yoga for Safe Spinal Health, yoga therapy certification after her first year in PT school, and is passionate about combining all that she learned in school with the healing properties of a safe yoga practice. She enjoys teaching yoga teachers about safe teaching strategies and the anatomy and alignment of yoga poses, and is excited to teach physical therapists how yoga techniques can be used in their clinical practice. She has also seen great results incorporating aspects of yoga and mindfulness into her own physical therapy clinical practice.

New Approvals
In addition to many new courses being approved individually in most states, PTWebucation.com proudly became a fully approved and accredited provider of PT and PTA CEUs in two new states, both California and Texas, as well as maintained our approved status in New York. All our courses are fully approved for credit in these states and most of our courses are approved in many others.
